Chutnys serve an exciting blend of traditional and modern Indian dishes. Here you can enjoy Hyderabadi Dum Pukht style vegetable korma made with almonds, cashews, mint, garam masala and yogurt. Interested in Indian fusion? Taste their chicken manchurian – shredded chicken dumplings wok tossed with fragrant Indian spices and finished with corn slurry gravy. Chutnys’ saffron cardamom french toast served with vanilla ice cream is a favorite among their customers.

Cafe & Bar Interior Design

Conceptually, Chutnys’ interior design needed to nod to classic Indian while also having an infusion of modern dining and takeaway to attract their clientele. The striking brass wayfinding on the dark front counter entices people as they walk by, bringing them inside to a bright, colourful and open plan.

There are many contrasting items within the cafe – pendant lights: over the counter and dining, furniture: classic wooden chairs and bright green banquet seating, finishes: glossy black subway tiles and a matte black counterface. These all work together to create a space that feels just right for the cafe’s customers.

The main dining strip runs parallel to the commercial kitchen. Features within this section include a black-and-white mural, brass wall feature and framed portraits. This is exactly the fusion that Chutnys Cafe aur ek Bar needed.

Chutnys’ commercial kitchen equipment was carefully specified to suit the cafe’s menu. Their combi steamer can roast large volumes of chicken and lamb, while their tandoor oven cooks marinated meat for mouthwatering tikka salads. Indian fusion manchurian dishes are tossed in a wok cooking range. Aside from various types of prep equipment for Indian spices, aromatic fenugreek leaves, Kadai vegetables and other ingredients, Chutnys’ commercial kitchen has a heavy-duty rice cooker and undercounter refrigerators. While waiting for their food, Chutnys customers can enjoy coffee and drinks prepared at the bar.
