Sea Legs Brewing Co in Kangaroo Point is the newest addition into the microbrewery scene in Brisbane. The brewery is located under the Story Bridge and was created out of the endless pursuit for the best beer in the city.
Created by a group of friends from different engineering and construction backgrounds, Sea Legs will be offering up to 12 different beers on tap, 6 of which will be seasonal offerings. They will also serve a wide assortment of pub favourites including wings, burgers and pizzas to complement their beer selection. Sea Legs will also have growlers and squealers available for those who want to bring their beers home. As soon as the operation is in full swing, it is looking to distribute their craft beers to selected outlets around town.
Sea Legs is located in what used to be a warehouse so the clients envisioned industrial-themed interiors for its front-of-house. The huge signage in front of the establishment is well emphasized by feature lights hanging above the logo. Key design accents include lots of greenery, string lighting and a logo feature mural on the back wall.
Sea Legs features a huge bar right in the middle of the establishment for easier access to customers from all areas of the 100-seater pub. The bar is equipped with a 6-tap T bar beer font, an ice machine and glass chillers ready to serve drinks to thirsty patrons.
Commercial Kitchen Design
The commercial kitchen is separate from the bar and is designed for speed and efficiency. A tilt-up window opens into a stainless steel counter with heat lamps so food that passes through this window from the kitchen stays warm and is ready for pickup by the staff.
Food preparation equipment lines the walls of the kitchen, allowing for a smoother food production flow. The dishwashing area is located right next to the food prep area for easier cleanups, and the coldrooms sit right behind the kitchen so staff can easily access cold drinks and other food items from storage. Right behind the bar is a massive brewery, where a selection of craft beers are being produced regularly.
