Food Strategy QLD were asked to audit and review the foodservices processes at all MercyCare properties which included Mercy Hospital, Residential Aged Care and Childcare Centres to consider the current opportunities to optimise, improve and/or expand the catering services.   
The Food Strategy team investigated the construction of a new offsite central production kitchen to service all sites and various refurbishment and renovation options.  As part of this process Food Strategy also worked with the catering staff and brought to the table their wealth of experience in a very professional and
approachable manner.
One of the primary reasons for appointing Food Strategy QLD to undertake the audit and review was their
tangible independence from major suppliers and manufacturers in the catering industry.  We received truly independent advice.

Puckles is an entirely new brand and required a huge commitment to detail along with the ability to change and adapt as the model progressed. Food Strategy are better than most of the other restaurant design people out there. They don’t use shopping centre plans for information – instead Food Strategy accurately measures and checks each site. This means I can give a more accurate quote and build a better job. It’s another check that nothing major is missed. With other designers; we find that every second job needs to be redesigned because they missed something. Robert seems to find most things in the design.

There are so many good things to say about Food Strategy plans and the team. The site measures and dimensions are accurate which means they’re easy to build and construct from. Their difference is the details in the cabinetry and stainless steel. I can send the designs straight to the workshops and don’t have to have them re-drawn like I do for other designers. This saves money and time.

We have to ‘assume’ details on other designer’s drawing – not with Food Strategy. For example; No one else draws in the gas lines to the catering equipment – a piece of information that’s vital to building the shop so we know it triggers consideration of gas installation and relevant council approvals. They have complete install information of catering equipment such as amps, megajoules, model numbers and services – I know exactly what services to arrange before we start.
 
The staff are happy, easy to work with and always available to answer our questions. Due to their knowledge and experience they know the answers to our questions – the others don’t. Nothing is too much trouble. By using Food Strategy designs; Witrook has less variations for the client, our risk factor is lower so our construction prices are lower – everyone wins!
